JESSICA WILSON, IMF – OWNER
LONE ARRANGER was moved to a much bigger & better location in Corning and opened on January 3rd, 2011 at 627 Davis Ave.
Jessica helped on the Rain Bird float for the 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade, along with some of the other floats.
Jessica passed all required testing and became an Iowa Master Florist (IMF) November 2009.
Jessica was invited to be an Adams County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador member in 2009.
As part of Jessica Wilson’s 10 Year anniversary celebration the name of the flower shop was changed to LONE ARRANGER on January 1st 2009.
Jessica was elected President of the Adams Community Chamber of Commerce for 2008.
Jessica was elected to the Iowa Florist Association (IFA) Board September 2007.
Jessica helped the Iowa Florist Association with making all the floral arrangements for Governor Chet Culver’s inauguration activities January 2007.
Jessica was asked to be on the Adams Community Chamber of Commerce Board and started January 2006.
Jessica was the coordinator for the Adams County 4-H/FFA & Youth Fair Queen for the years 2004 through 2009 and also helped the coordinator in the previous 2 years.
The “Survivor” game at the Adams County 4-H/FFA & Youth Fair has been lots of fun to all who watch and to those who participate. Jessica was the winner of the first “Survivor” in 2001.
Jessica received 2003 Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Dedication & Commitment to the community at the Adams Community Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.
Peterson Floral & Gifts was moved to a new location in Corning, IA on September 1, 2001, (615 Davis Ave.).
Jessica Wilson purchased Peterson Floral Gifts & Antiques from Rita Arends on February 1, 1999 the name was changes back to Peterson Floral & Gifts.
Jessica Wilson worked for Ros & Darlene while in high school. After graduating high school in 1997, she attended Kirkwood Community College for a degree in Floriculture. There are two internships during the one year program, both of which Jessica worked at Peterson Floral & Gifts.
The floral business was bought from Ros & Darlene Peterson by Rita Arends on January 1, 1998 & was renamed Peterson Floral Gifts & Antiques.
Rita Arends worked for the Peterson's as they trained her for a short time before she purchased the business.
Ros & Darlene Peterson owned a flower shop in Lenox, IA then also took over the shop in Corning at 605 ½ 7th St. Larry & Sherry Archer sold the business to the Petersons and they changed the name to Peterson Floral & Gifts.
Larry & Sherry Archer bought into the business with Dale & Caroline Jackson. Then Dale & Caroline sold out of the floral business to Larry & Sherry Archer.
Dale & Caroline Jackson opened the “Flower and Garden Center” at their home, and were located there for several years.
